DESCRIPTION: This is a one and one-half story frame building having an ordinary wood joisted roof covered with metal. This building is supported by
brick piers and the balance resting on earth.  The interior finish is of ordinary wood joist floor with wood sheathed side walls and ceiling.  This building is heated
by stove with metal smoke pipe venting to brick hung chimney. There is no provision for artificial light.
 
This building is in a very poor state of repair. The unused portion being in uninsurable condition.  The estimated 100% insurable value is approximately $600.00 after making allowance for depreciation.
 
OCCUPANCY: This building is occupied for educational purposes and contains
Two rooms, however, only one portion of this building with one room is used
at the present.
 
PROTECTION: This building is outside of any recognized public protection.
 
FIRE PREVENTION RECOMMENDATIONS: We suggest that the unused portion of this building be demolished as soon as possible. Its present condition is a constant hazard to life and limb.
 
Note: HUD recommended the uninsurable portion of the school
be demolished, leaving Harvey Colored School with only one room.
